GREAT RUN FOR AVERY MACKENZIE AT X-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS (1ST CROSS-COUNTRY)Published by
Grade 9 student Avery Mackenzie did the School proud this past weekend at the Midget Boys OFSAA Cross-Country Championships in Ottawa. The 5,250 metre course was technically challenging with rolling hills, winding curves and narrow paths. Avery sprinted out in the first 400m and gained a good position ahead of a majority of the field. This maneuver kept him out of trouble and from being potentially trapped behind slower runners. From there In the end, Avery completed the course in 18:33 minutes and placed 31st out of 240 runners. It was a great finish to the season!
